A Faberge gem-set, gold, and guilloche enamel frame, workmaster Victor Aarne, ST Petersburg, circa 1899-1908, with scratched inventory number 5975. The domed frame on bracket feet enameled in pale translucent green enamel over a radiating engine-turned ground, the mine-cut diamond oval aperture surrounded by applied three-color gold chased floral swags and cascades accented by cabochon rubies. Mother of pearl back with hinged scrolling gilt strut. Height: 1 5/8" (4.1 cm).
